The following pages are provided mainly for reference to configurations in Alma that are already completed for your institutions. No changes should be necessary to these configurations. Please consult CARLI staff prior to modifying any settings.

OCLC Gateway Export Integration for Institution Zones -- This document provides information about the OCLC import integration to an institution zone. These settings will be accessible to users with the General System Administrator role. Please consult CARLI staff prior to modifying any configuration.

Deleting WorldCat Holdings

The Alma publishing processes and OCLC Data Sync Collections above will automatically process holdings deletions from WorldCat when no inventory remains on a bib record in your institution zone. For example, withdrawing the last item and deleting a holding, or deleting the last portfolio from a title, each will send a deletion request to WorldCat. 

  • Alma actions that delete holdings via the standard Data Sync Collection (physical inventory).
  • Alma actions that delete holdings via the standard Data Sync Collection (electronic inventory).
  • Deleting library holdings using a dedicated Delete WorldCat Holdings Collection.

Catalogers may occasionally choose to delete holdings directly in WorldCat. Deleting holdings in WorldCat typically does not affect institution data within Alma.
