Using WorldShare Collection Manager for CARLI Collections

CARLI and most member libraries have access to OCLC Cataloging Service full subscriptions through the state's Group Services contract. This subscription permits access to the WorldShare Collection Manager, where libraries may acquire updated records for their own collections, along with records for electronic collections managed in the WorldCat Knowledge Base. Libraries may use the knowledge base collections to represent electronic resource holdings for display in WorldShare Discovery or for users of the WorldCat ILL system.

CARLI uses Collection Manager to provide record sets for consortially-purchased collections to member libraries that do not receive these collections through I-Share and the CARLI Network Zone.

Access to WorldShare Metadata Services and Collection Manager

Connect to WorldShare by visiting the Sign in to OCLC Services page and selecting either WorldShare Management Services or WorldShare Metadata Services. Locate your institution by name, OCLC symbol, or zip code. Then login with your account credentials. If you do not have an account, and no one at your institution has administrative access you may do the following.

1. Contact OCLC directly at orders@oclc.org.
2. I-Share member libraries may contact CARLI support, as CARLI maintains administrative accounts to manage data sync settings. 
3. Some institutions may have configured their WorldShare access to be managed with their institution's single sign-on. If this is your institution, you may be able to login with this access. If not, contact OCLC support for assistance.

CARLI Documentation and Workflows for Collection Manager

CARLI began using Collection Manager with the CARLI eBook Patron Driven Acquisition Pilot. Member libraries that do not use I-Share, and I-Share members that use WorldCat Local or WorldShare Discovery for a discovery layer, may acquire access to the collections in Collection Manager.

CARLI will provide additional collections for CARLI-purchased and CARLI-brokered electronic resources packages when possible.
