CARLI is committed to helping it members continuing education in a variety of ways.
CARLI Counts is a continuing education library leadership immersion program that prepares librarians to make effective use of research findings on the impact of academic libraries on student success for the twin purposes of service development and library advocacy. Program participants will learn how to use local library data analytics in alignment with institutional data, goals, and strategic priorities to improve their services and demonstrate their value.
The CARLI Scholarship provides financial assistance to current employees of CARLI Governing Member Libraries pursuing graduate studies leading to a Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Scholarships may be awarded for both on-campus and/or distance education programs.
CARLI, together with its 128 Governing Member libraries, is offering two assistantship opportunities to persons from traditionally underrepresented minority groups who are enrolled in the master's degree program in Library and Information Science at the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign. The goal of this opportunity is to increase the number of minority student staff members at Illinois’ two and four-year, public and private college and university libraries.
Established by the CARLI Board of Directors in 2021, funding for its inaugural years in Academic Years 2022-2023, 2023-2024, and 2024-2025 is provided by the University of Illinois System Office and the Consortium of Academic and Research Libraries in Illinois (CARLI).
The PDA is a group of 16 library consortia dedicated to sharing professional development opportunities with other alliance members. This cooperative initiative, which aligns with CARLI's stated strategic priority to collaborate with other organizations, multiplies the number and variety of online professional development opportunities available to the member libraries of each participating consortium.
