When you use open pedagogy in your classroom, you are inviting students to be part of the teaching process, participating in the co-creation of knowledge. In this online workshop, you will learn the definition and context of Open Pedagogy, view innovative examples being applied in a variety of subjects and formats, and work with other attendees to create an assignment that you can use in your own class.

Are you working on open educational resources (OER) or curious about what others are doing in your field? Join us for a lively virtual meet-up designed to spark ideas, share experiences and tips, and explore opportunities for cross-institutional OER partnerships.
These sessions will be all about connection and inspiration. We’ll:
• Hear about current OER projects in development or use;
• Discuss concerns / problems you have encountered;
• Share tips on possible solutions;
• Discuss areas of interest for future collaboration;
• Create space for teaming up on shared goals and initiatives
Whether you’re just getting started or already deep into OER work, this meet-up is a chance to learn from peers, build new relationships, and imagine what’s possible together.

Announced in early 2024, this grant opportunity provided for the development of textbooks and ancillaries as open educational resources to ultimately reduce students’ costs and encourage student success. The open license allows all faculty to adapt the materials to meet local needs. This page includes information about the program as well as recordings of the 12 OER Creation Workshops held to help those creating open educational resources.
CARLI offers OER Grants Office Hours to answer questions about the Illinois SCOERs and the Illinois State Library OER Grant programs. These are every Wednesday from 2:00 - 3:00 p.m., central time. All can be found on the CARLI calendar. No registration is required.
CARLI and the Illinois Support for the Creation of Open Educational Resources (SCOERs) team are pleased to announce a series of workshops related to the creation of OER. These workshops are designed to build expertise in our member libraries in the areas of Instructional Design, Accessibility, Copyright and Creative Commons, and 3D Printing. This training series is made possible through generous funding from FIPSE and the U.S. Department of Education.
