OER Success Stories

CARLI members across Illinois have been working to further OER initiatives on their campuses. Congratulations on your successes this year!

  • Sauk Valley Community College in the past year has: tracked courses that have adopted OER (title, year adopted, #sections, #enrolled); promoted OER in library and instructional design newsletters; surveyed faculty and students about OER and course materials; created an OER LibGuide; adapted an OER course in Canvas for faculty promotional credit; presented about OER at full faculty meetings; and have started the process of creating an Open and Affordable Materials standing committee.

  • Oakton College got their first faculty seminar on affordable course materials approved! Faculty can participate in a 6 session/12 week program to take a current course and bring the materials down under $25!

  • Greenville University has started working with their Center for Teaching and Learning to pursue applying for the Illinois State Library OER grant...and they have a few interested faculty!

To add your success story to this list, CARLI members please add your description in this Google form until February 23, or if after February 23, please email a description to .
