CARLI is seeking nominations for candidates to fill seats on the CARLI Board of Directors. The Board of Directors is the governing authority of the Consortium of Academic and Research Libraries in Illinois.
CARLI Governing Members will elect one Board member from each of three (3) specified constituencies (public universities, community colleges, and private colleges and universities). Candidates receiving the most votes will serve three (3) year terms, July 1, 2017 through June 30, 2020.

CARLI is pleased to share that the collections of the Illinois Digital Heritage Hub, representing a collaboration between Illinois State Library, the Consortium of Academic and Research Libraries in Illinois (CARLI), Chicago Public Library, and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign are officially live in DPLA and ready to explore.

The 2016 CARLI Annual Meeting will be held Friday, November 18 at the I Hotel and Conference Center in Champaign. Staff at any CARLI member library are invited to attend.

We are very happy to announce that Anne Craig will join CARLI as Senior Director beginning in early July. Anne is currently Director of the Illinois State Library, a position she has held since 2005. Anne will be replacing Susan Singleton who will retire at the end of July.
E-Resources FY17 Selection Cycle to Open in New Selection System
The FY 17 Selection Cycle is expected to open in the first week May using the newly redesigned Selection System. Vendors are currently loading pricing into the system. After all pricing has been verified, the system will be open to libraries for their FY17 subscription commitments.
The CARLI Board of Directors election is now underway. All governing member directors should have received their ballot on Monday, April 20. If you did not receive a ballot, please contact CARLI support. Your input is valuable to us, please remember to vote.
Each year CARLI has a number of opportunities to serve on various committees. Service on CARLI committees affords individuals a unique opportunity to use their experience and expertise to help shape the future of the consortium and its services. CARLI is now seeking volunteers to serve on 9 advisory committees. Volunteers chosen will serve a three-year term, July 1, 2016 through June 30, 2019. Faculty and staff members from all CARLI member libraries, with all levels of experience, are encouraged to apply.

Susan Singleton, CARLI Executive Director and Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs, University of Illinois, will retire in July 2016. Singleton, who has held the position since January 2006, was the first Executive Director hired after CARLI was created from the merger of the Illinois Cooperative Collection Management Program (ICCMP), the Illinois Digital Academic Library (IDAL), and the Illinois Library Computer Systems Organization (ILCSO).
Dennis Krieb, Director of Institutional Research and Library Services at Lewis and Clark Community College in Godfrey, Illinois, and a member of the CARLI Board of Directors since 2011, is the recipient of the Illinois Library Association Illinois Academic Librarian of the Year Award for 2015.
All Directors of CARLI Governing member libraries are invited to attend any one of three Governing Directors meetings to be held in October. Meetings will be held in Chicago and Springfield on the following dates:

Illinois State Library has been selected as a service hub for the Digital Public Library of America (DPLA). The Illinois State Library will share Service Hub responsibilities with the Chicago Public Library, the Consortium of Academic and Research Libraries in Illinois (CARLI), and the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign.
