CARLI Annual Meeting & Directors Meeting

Please join us for the 2023 CARLI Annual Meeting to be held Thursday, November 16 at the I Hotel and Conference Center in Champaign. Registration is now open. The agenda is not yet finalized.

Beginning July 1, 2023, CARLI will begin a five-year pilot program to provide all University of Illinois Press (UIP) electronic journals to all CARLI members. The FY24-FY28 pilot is funded by the University of Illinois System as the result of a joint request from the UIP and CARLI in FY22.

2023 CARLI Governance Board Election

The election and appointment process for the new members of the CARLI Governance Board is now complete. 
 
Directors elected to 3-year terms are: Carolyn Ciesla (Elmhurst University), Geoff Pettys (Southern Illinois University School of Medicine), and Morgann Quilty (Parkland College).
 
Directors appointed to one-year terms are: Devon Powell (South Suburban College), Claire Stewart (University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign) and Nathan Thebarge (Trinity International University).

All CARLI Staff will be attending a two-day retreat on May 17 and 18 in Urbana, IL. 
 
Response times may be a little longer during this time. Normal operations will resume on Friday, May 19.

This is a reminder that we are seeking volunteers to serve on our advisory committees and task forces. The application period closes May 5 at 5:00 p.m. Terms on new committees will begin on July 1, 2023.

Voting is now open for seats on the CARLI Governance Board. Each of the CARLI constituencies—Community Colleges; Private Colleges and Universities; and Public Universities—will elect one new Board member for a three-year term (July 1, 2023–June 30, 2026).

CARLI Governance Board Nominations

CARLI is seeking nominations for candidates to fill seats on the CARLI Governance Board (formerly called the Board of Directors). The Board is the governing authority of the Consortium of Academic and Research Libraries in Illinois.
 
CARLI Governing Members will elect one Board member from each of three specified constituencies (public universities, community colleges, and private colleges and universities). Candidates receiving the most votes for each constituency will serve three-year terms, July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2026.

CARLI is seeking volunteers to serve on advisory committees. Volunteers chosen will serve a three-year term, July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2026. CARLI is also seeking volunteers to serve on a new Archives Task Force as approved by the CARLI Board at their March 10  meeting. The initial term of the task force will be one year; terms may be extended as needed to complete their work. The application period will close on May 5 at 5:00 p.m. Faculty and staff members from all CARLI member libraries, with all levels of experience, are encouraged to apply.
