Academic & Research Library Security Forum: June 16, 2014

The CARLI Public Services Committee held a day-long forum on Security for academic and research libraries on Monday, June 16th, at the College of DuPage in lovely Glen Ellyn, Illinois.
 
Security is a concern for all libraries, in all communities. This forum was designed to highlight current issues in library security through discussions, presentations, and a hands-on training session.  The intended audience for this program was librarians and staff from CARLI member libraries.

I-Share Next Task Force Application

CARLI is seeking volunteers interested in serving on the I-Share Next Task Force. The I-Share Next Task Force will coordinate the effort and advise the CARLI staff, CARLI Board of directors, and CARLI membership on all matters related to the selection of the next generation of I-Share, i.e., a shared library management system that will ultimately replace Voyager for CARLI’s I-Share participant institutions.

The Public Services Committee's one-hour IACRL Pre-Conference session was divided into quick discussions on four major public services topics.

In preparation, committee members composed a list of questions that a library could use to assess each topic, some of which were used for discussion during the session. These questions are listed under each topic as Part 1.
