Curriculum Mapping: A CARLI-sponsored IACRL Preconference

For their 2016 Annual Project, the CARLI Instruction Committee decided to provide an outline and accompanying materials for the Learning Outcomes webinar and the Curriculum Mapping IACRL PreConference workshop. The information that follows was compiled by the Committee to provide information for instruction librarians who were unable to attend the events, or for those who would like to refer to the ideas shared during the events about implementing and assessing the Framework.

Session Introduction

This website was developed to accompany a breakout session held by the CARLI Public Services Committee at the CARLI eBook Symposium.

This presentation and resulting website will familiarize you with some features and conundrums related to eBooks in their current state.

The site highlights some common library approaches, some existing dilemmas, and some best practices for introducing and integrating these new tools into our existing paper-based book paradigm.

With this website the 2014-2015 CARLI Public Services Committee is sharing our exploration of Personal Knowledge Management (PKM) and Collaborative Knowledge Management (CKM) tools to demonstrate possible applications that libraries could further develop. Academic & Research Library Security Forum: June 16, 2014

The CARLI Public Services Committee held a day-long forum on Security for academic and research libraries on Monday, June 16th, at the College of DuPage in lovely Glen Ellyn, Illinois.
 
Security is a concern for all libraries, in all communities. This forum was designed to highlight current issues in library security through discussions, presentations, and a hands-on training session.  The intended audience for this program was librarians and staff from CARLI member libraries.

Overview of Session

The Public Services Committee's one-hour IACRL Pre-Conference session was divided into quick discussions on four major public services topics.

In preparation, committee members composed a list of questions that a library could use to assess each topic, some of which were used for discussion during the session. These questions are listed under each topic as Part 1.
