Alma Title Count Reduction Project: Removing E-Collections No Longer Funded by CARLI

Back to the CARLI I-Share Alma Title Count Reduction Project Home Page

Overview

In this round, we will clean up two Alexander Street Press (ASP) collections whose original acquisition was previously fully funded by CARLI, but beginning in FY20, libraries wanting continued access have to pay an annual access fee:

Other Alexander Street Press resources will be address in a later round.

There are 29 I-Share libraries that still have these two e-collections in their IZs but did not choose to pay to continue access. Users do not have access to these resources, and deleting these unneeded e-collections from IZs will help reduce our overall title count:

BRA, CON, CSU CTU, ERK, GSU, IEC, IIT, IMS, JKM, JWC, KCC, KIS, LAC, LNC, MBI, MCK, NLU, ONU, RCC, RSH, SCJ, SEI, SFM, SIM, SML, SSC, SXU, WRH

If your institution is in the list above but has directly purchased access to Black Thought and Culture or Women and Social Movements in the US from ASP independent of the CARLI brokering system, please email so that we can update our records.

Work Plan

Step 1: CARLI staff will write reports for each institution to show if these e-collections need to be removed from IZs.

Step 2: CARLI will distribute reports for each institution in Box and notify I-Share Liaisons and Directors on October 25, 2021.

Step 3: I-Share institutions with these e-collections to be deleted will indicate to CARLI by 5pm on November 1 if they will remove these e-collections from their IZs themselves or if CARLI will do this work.

Step 4: I-Share institutions that elect to remove the e-collections themselves must complete this work by November 8, 2021.

Step 5: CARLI staff will remove the remaining e-collections from IZs and notify each institution's I-Share Liaison when the work is completed in their IZ.
