Each year, all Illinois library system member libraries (including all CARLI libraries) must complete the Illinois State Library’s mandatory library certification to qualify for State Library system services, programs and grants, and to remain eligible for CARLI membership. The certification must be completed by March 31, 2025. If you have not yet completed your certification, please do so as soon as possible.

CARLI is seeking volunteers to serve on our advisory committees. Volunteers chosen will serve a three-year term, July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2028. The application period for initial committee appointments will close on May 2 at 5:00 p.m. Faculty and staff members from all CARLI member libraries, with all levels of experience, are encouraged to apply.

CARLI Counts Cohort 6
Congratulations to the CARLI Counts Cohort 6 participants! Their year-long journey begins in February with the first of two in-person immersive sessions. As with the previous five cohorts, all three CARLI member constituencies (public, community college, and private) are represented.
CARLI’s I-Share Resource Management Training series focuses on how libraries may manage collections and metadata in Alma effectively, with an emphasis on Alma’s functionalities for management of physical and electronic resources. This series will cover many topics that involve cataloging as well as the interaction of metadata with other library system functions, such as acquisitions, circulation, and discovery. Each session will highlight different processes and workflows for completing resource management tasks in both institutional and consortial perspectives.
CARLI & ILDS Holiday Information
The CARLI office will be closed Tuesday, December 24 through Wednesday, January 1. Regular hours will resume on Thursday, January 2.
The CARLI Office will also be closed in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr.'s birthday on January 20, 2025.

Please join us in congratulating Denise Green, CARLI Senior Library Services Coordinator, who will retire on November 1, 2024. We want to extend our thanks and appreciation to Denise for her service and wish her many, many years of happy, healthy retirement.
We are also very happy to announce that there are two new staff members on the CARLI Team. Please welcome Yanira Cruz, Electronic Resources Coordinator, who fills Denise Green′s position. Also, please welcome Wyn Schell, Library Services Coordinator, a new position in User Services.
