Parking Information: The Newberry does not have a visitor parking lot. Garage parking is available in the neighborhood. The following garage offers discounted parking to Newberry patrons. Remember to bring your parking ticket with you so it can be validated by the Newberry security guard.

100 West Chestnut Street: Enter on Clark Street; $8 (0-6 hours) and $9 (6-8 hours)

Limited metered parking is available on area streets. Daytime and evening parking restrictions do apply, so be sure to read the posted signs carefully. Learn about using the new pay meters.

Summary:  This program will help librarians and staff identify mold in library buildings and collections, the risks that mold poses to human health and collections, and options for remediation.  Presenters will also share case studies from their careers in Illinois as well as post-Katrina Gulf Coast.

The Newberry Library has graciously offered to host tours of their facility. There are three different tours, one a "behind-the-scenes" look at their operations and facilities (15 people), one a tour of the Conservation Laboratory (15 people), and one of the current exhibits (15 - 20 people). Please note that personal items may not be brought on the tours, and there are lockers to secure personal belongings.

The three tours are limited in size. Each begins at 3:30pm and will last approximately 30 minutes. Registration will be handled on a first come, first registered basis. You will be notified by email if your registration for a tour is accepted.
