Messy Data? Clean it up with OpenRefine! Webinar 2: Using OpenRefine to Reconcile Your Data

Join the CARLI Created Content Committee in February for two Zoom workshops introducing OpenRefine (https://openrefine.org/), a free, open source tool used to organize, clean up, and transform your data. Presenters Tricia Lampron, from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and Greer Martin, from Loyola University Chicago, will provide an overview of this browser-based application, as well as use cases that show the benefits of working with your data in OpenRefine.

This is the second webinar in this two part series and will include more advanced functions of OpenRefine including activities to reconcile your data against Wikidata and library authorities using reconciliation services and APIs. This workshop will also teach how to import data from external data sources, and how to export your data in different formats such as XML and JSON.

You may also wish to join us on Tuesday, February 9, 2021, from 1:00 - 3:00pm for the first webinar of the series which will demonstrate the basic functions of OpenRefine to get you started on cleaning up your data.
