"Messy Data? Clean it up with OpenRefine!" Webinar 1

Join the CARLI Created Content Committee in February for two Zoom workshops introducing OpenRefine (https://openrefine.org/), a free, open source tool used to organize, clean up, and transform your data. Presenters Tricia Lampron, from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and Greer Martin, from Loyola University Chicago, will provide an overview of this browser-based application, as well as use cases that show the benefits of working with your data in OpenRefine.
 
This first webinar will demonstrate the basic functions of OpenRefine to get you started on cleaning up your data.

Join us on Wednesday, February 17, 2021, from 1:00 - 3:00pm for the the second webinar which include more advanced functions of OpenRefine including activities to reconcile your data against Wikidata and library authorities using reconciliation services and APIs. This workshop will also teach how to import data from external data sources, and how to export your data in different formats such as XML and JSON.
