Intended audience: Staff at New (2016) I-Share Libraries who are
interested in creating, modifying, and running reports for Voyager in
Microsoft Access. As space permits, this training will be open to staff
at I-Share libraries who have not attended reports training or those who
would benefit from a refresher.

PRE-REQUISITE: Attendees must complete the CARLI "Introduction to Voyager Access Reporting" video training series.

Description: This is intermediate training that builds on the skills
gained from the "Introduction to Voyager Access Reporting" series.
Attendees will gain knowledge on query writing techniques and on the
locations of data in Voyager, building skills in creating re-usable
queries for themselves and their colleagues.

Topics:

  • The Voyager Data Dictionary
  • Understanding relationships: inner and outer joins
  • Order of operations: choosing one query vs. subqueries vs. make-table queries
  • Backbone queries: encouraging reusability and flexibility
  • Counting, adding, finding latest: aggregation functions
