Discovery Session on Hybrid Linking and Authority Control Task List

Primary tabs

Wednesday, June 10, 2026 - 8:00am to 9:00am

Erez Shabo, Alma Product Manager at Ex Libris, will present a "Discovery Session" to get feedback from CARLI institutions on Alma authority control functionality in place and in development.

Ex Libris is exploring a hybrid approach to linking authorities, using ID-based linking alongside standard (existing) text-based matching of headings. They also want to explore pain points related to use of the Authority Control Task list, such as challenges in managing repeated headings in the list, workflow efficiency concerns, and other barriers that reduce the use of authority control across the I-Share consortium or in standalone institutions.

The presentation is not tied to a specific data model and is relevant for both Network Zone and Institution Zone use cases.

Register to receive a meeting link, which will be sent automatically on June 9 around 3:00 p.m. CDT.

Ex Libris is responsible for hosting this event, and the session may be recorded.
