These “listening sessions” will be informal 90 minute-2 hour sessions. The sessions will offer library directors an opportunity to talk about their library’s challenges and successes. Although the gathering is intended to be very informal, here are some questions that might help frame the day:

• What are the issues in your library that are keeping you awake at night?
• Are there one or two specific things that CARLI can do to help address those challenges?
• Are there opportunities for collaboration that we should be pursuing?
• Are there opportunities that you see that you can’t take advantage of that maybe CARLI could help you with or leverage for you?
• Are there best practices that exemplify collaboration and partnership through CARLI that we could share with the rest of the consortium?
• Is there a program/service that you are conducting that could be leveraged at scale for the rest of the consortium?

Driving directions

Using this map, enter the parking garage (large “P” located midway on map) on Harrison Street, just West of Ashland Avenue.  

Bring your parking ticket with you!!!

To get to the Rush University Library:

• Take the elevator to the 4th floor and walk to your left to the open area of the parking garage.  
• Turn to your right and you will see a revolving doorway that will take you to the Armour Academic Center building.
• When you enter this building, walk to your left (you will see a bench) and the elevators will  be to your immediate right.  
• Take an elevator to the 5th floor and walk in the direction of the windows.  Turn left and enter the Library of Rush University, AAC, 571.
• Speak with someone at the Circulation desk and they will provide you with instructions from there.

Rush University will be providing refreshments and discounted parking tickets ($8). 

When you return to the 4th floor parking garage, you will see a set of Kiosks; insert your parking ticket and then insert the discounted ticket.

Sessions will also be held at Northern Illinois University on March 21 and Illinois Wesleyan University on April 11.
