Description of the CARLI Digital Preservation Trainers Program:

The initial training will involve 18 librarians or staff from CARLI member libraries. The trainees will participate in a 3.5 day digital preservation Train-the-Trainer workshop developed and taught by the Library of Congress Digital Preservation Outreach and Education (DPOE) office. View the DPOE curriculum.

After successful completion of the workshop, the 18 CARLI Digital Preservation Trainers will be required to share their knowledge of digital preservation with other CARLI libraries via CARLI-coordinated programs, online and/or in-person, within the next academic calendar year.

Fees: There is no registration fee for the training. CARLI will pay for the trainees hotel rooms for Monday night through Thursday night. The hotel provides breakfast and CARLI will provide lunch for the training dates.  All participants are expected to bring with them either a laptop or tablet computer with presentation software (such as MS PowerPoint) to use during the training.
