Alma has the ability to automatically renew materials for patrons, when both the patron and the transaction are eligible for the renewal to occur. Some I-Share libraries have been using auto-renewals for subsets of their local patrons since 2021.
Per the guidance of the CARLI Resource Sharing Committee, as of Monday July 28, 2025, loans to I-Share patrons will be enabled for auto-renewals.

- Discuss the difference between auto-renewal policies for local and I-Share patrons.
- Summarize the results of the survey conducted by the CARLI Resource Sharing Committee in 2021 AND 2025, including why renewals for I-Share patrons is a consortial decision.
- Include time for Q & A.
- Provide information on setting up an optional consultation for your library on automatic renewals, whether to ask individualized questions or to review your library's Alma configuration.
