Instruction Committee: Virtual Discussion on Building Relationships with Students

Primary tabs

Wednesday, January 31, 2024 - 2:00pm to 3:00pm

Following this year’s theme of New Directions and New Users, the CARLI Instruction committee invites you to a series of discussions on building relationships with external stakeholders. The second virtual discussion will focus on new conceptualizations, approaches, and methods to building relationships with students through research consultations. The event will be held via Zoom on Wednesday, January 31st 2-3 pm.

To register: Use the "Register" link at the top of this page.

To facilitate our conversation on this topic, we will use Symphony Bruce’s article “Teaching with Care: A Relational Approach to Individual Research Consultations” (from In the Library with the Lead Pipe, Feb. 2020) as a starting point.
This article may be freely accessed at: https://www.inthelibrarywiththeleadpipe.org/2020/teaching-with-care/

Participants are encouraged to read the article ahead of time (but all are welcome to join regardless!). This will be an interactive discussion among participants, and an opportunity to reflect on how we develop relationships with students in our work.

Please note that this event will not be recorded.
