CARLI Research Subsidy Program

CARLI is seeking proposals for the FY2015 Research Subsidy Program. Funded by the CARLI Board of Directors, the research awards will support research projects from staff in CARLI Governing member libraries. Projects should have the potential to positively impact libraries and the library profession; have the potential to provide a useful addition to the existing literature; and results of the research should be of interest to or of use by other CARLI libraries. Total funding for FY2015 is $25,000. The maximum amount funded for any proposal will be $4,999.

Proposals will be accepted from both individual researchers and those working collaboratively. Proposals for Multi-Year Projects will be accepted.

A final evaluation report which will include evaluation of the project and its impact will be due within 4 months of project completion.

Up to $1,000 may be included for travel to present research findings at a conference. Specific details about the conference and cost estimates for travel must be included within the budget portion of the proposal.

Indirect costs, such as college/university administrative costs will not be covered by CARLI Research Subsidies.

  • Detailed plan, year by year, with benchmark goals to be completed by which progress will be measured and reported at the end of the year.
  • Detailed budget, year by year, and if applicable for each participating library.
  • Annual progress reports, including progress on benchmark goals and budget reports for each participating institution, will be due to CARLI by July 31 of each year of the multi-year project.
