Presenters:
Angela Gaines is a seasoned library professional with experience in public and academic libraries. She began her career at a public library in teen and youth services and eventually found her calling behind the scenes in academic libraries. Angela now catalogs serials materials entering FLARE and helping with record and/or metadata clean-up projects as they arise as the Complex Copy Cataloger – Serials at University of Florida.
Mary Rubin is Connect Librarian / Assistant Librarian at University of Central Florida in Orlando Previously, she served as the manager for cataloging and acquisitions at Valencia College from 2022 to 2024 and as the archivist for the UCF University Archives from 2012 to 2022. A proud alumna of UCF, she published the University of Central Florida Trivia Book in 2024.
Madeline Sims, Library Technical Services Program Coordinator at Florida State College at Jacksonville, began her library career working at small career colleges for a combined nine years. In these places, she was a solo librarian who managed all facets of an academic library: collection development, reference, information literacy, cataloging, acquisitions, processing, and more. In 2017, she discovered her true calling in the library world: working in technical services. Madeline enjoys being the behind the scenes wizard who catalogs, troubleshoots, trains, supports, and fixes (almost) everything that comes her way.
