Open Athens kickoff webinar for I-Share libraries Jan 29, 9:30-11 am

We are pleased to announce that CARLI and EBSCO have scheduled a kickoff webinar about Open Athens, for Wednesday, January 29, 2020, from 9:30am-11am CST.  No registration is required. Connectivity information for the webinar can be found below and on the CARLI website calendar.  This session will be presented by our EBSCO Open Athens project team and will be recorded. Please feel free to invite staff from your IT department to join the webinar, if you like.

As Anne Craig posted previously, CARLI has purchased Open Athens for 3 years to assist libraries in establishing single signon service for Alma and Primo VE. We will not require I-Share libraries to use Open Athens if you have another service in place, but we encourage you to at least watch the webinar to learn a bit more about what Open Athens offers and help you decide if it would be a good fit for your institution.

EBSCO has an online questionnaire that each institution that needs to be filled out by every I-Share library that will use Open Athens. You may wait until after the webinar to complete the questionnaire, but you can review it now here: https://www.tfaforms.com/4794923

In the next couple weeks following the webinar, EBSCO and CARLI staff will be following up with I-Share libraries to make sure we know which institutions are, and which are not planning to use Open Athens when we go live on Alma and Primo VE on June 24.

If you decide to use a service other than Open Athens, we will provide you an Ex Libris Authentication Setup Form for you to complete. If you are using Open Athens, EBSCO will complete this form on your behalf.
