• The 2025/2026 Preservation Committee chair/ co-chairs vote will occur at the July meeting. 
• Preservation Survey Report draft will be submitted for review in early July.
• June Preservation Tip, by Bradley Wiles, will be published in July.  

Announcements

• Member Announcements:
  • Bonnie Parr (Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum), Emancipation Proclamation on display until June 26 in the Library; there is no charge to see the proclamation.
• CARLI Announcements:
  • Senior Director of CARLI, Anne Craig, announced last week that she will be retiring at the end of 2025.

• Monthly Preservation Topics: 
  • The June topic will be published in July – Brad
• Preservation Resource Page Link Checking: 
  • Additions made and link checks completed.
• CARLI Preservation Resource Page: 
  • Statement will be added to the page housing the 2013 preservation videos to alert viewers the link points to external videos, therefore,  some may no longer be online, however, the content is still relevant.
• Past Programming:
  • The Illinois Fire Service Institute Burn Simulation & Recovery workshop went well. Seventeen people attended and four evaluations were received to date.  
  • Summer Digitization Series: about 100 people attended the first session in the series, held June 11, 1:00-2:00 p.m. “Yale’s Digital Collections AI,” Michael Appleby/Jonathan Manton. 
• Upcoming Summer Digitization Series sessions: 
  • July 2: “Digitization Processes” - Laura Perry, University of Florida.
  • July 9: Denise Henderson, Chief of Digitization for Research Services from the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA)
  • July 16: Panel I: Stephanie Gowler, Northwestern University and Christina Miranda, University of Chicago. 
  • July 23: Panel II: Dagan Turcotte-Cutkomp, Kelsey Wise, and Matthew Deihl, Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum; and staff members at Illinois Wesleyan University
• Future Programming: 
  • Illinois Digital Newspaper Collection session, potentially in fall, TBD
• Survey Results:
  • The committee is collaborating on the summary report for the 2025 Preservation Survey. A draft of the report will be ready by early July. Heidi Marshall will edit the entries for overall tone and voice. 
• Other Business:
  • The Preservation Committee Annual Report was submitted and reviewed by the CARLI Governance Board at its June 13 meeting. 
  • Members whose terms end in July: Heidi Marshall and Bonnie Parr, though Bonnie volunteered to continue in the fall.  
  • New 2025/2026 Preservation Committee members:
