Electronic Resources Coordinator - College of DuPage

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The Electronic Resources Coordinator works collaboratively with library faculty and staff to coordinate and support the electronic resource life cycle. Responsibilities include acquiring license documents for administrative review; product acquisition and billing support; subscription renewals; provision of access to electronic resources for the college community, including troubleshooting and working with technical support staff; collecting and analyzing data and assisting with the preparation of annual reports; assist Library users in accessing and using electronic resources. Participates on committees, task forces, and special projects as appropriate.

  • Coordinate acquisition, trials, renewals and cancellation activities with publishers/vendors.
  • Manage activation, setting defined access and maintaining accurate information about electronic resources in all relevant systems.
  • Analyze, troubleshoot and resolve issues related to electronic resource maintenance and access.
  • Foster a collaborative, interdepartmental approach to problem solving and decision making.
  • Contribute to development and documentation of procedures and effective workflows for management of electronic resources.
  • Review and negotiate license agreements with publishers/vendors to reach favorable pricing and licensing terms.
  • Work closely with acquisitions staff and liaison librarians to support collection development and collection assessment.
  • Assist in gathering data and statistics for external reporting.
  • Provide reference and research assistance to the College community.
  • Maintain awareness of emerging issues, trends, standards, and technologies in the management of licensed electronic resources and understand how these can impact resources and services.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Master of Library and Information Science preferred.
  • 2 years library work experience, knowledge of academic databases, competent with productivity software, reference work required.
  • Academic reference, knowledge of database management tools/procedures, negotiation skills preferred.

Working Conditions

  • Networked Library computers and wireless laptops, photocopiers, printers and fax machines.
  • Work is performed in an office setting and at public service desks, as well as by phone and email; requires extended periods of time at a computer keyboard and monitor and significant time viewing texts in print and electronic formats.
  • This position is hybrid remote work eligible.

Compensation and Benefits

$54,604 annually ($26.26/hr) starting pay, based on experience. Competitive starting pay is dependent on education and experience. About the Library

College of DuPage Library is a team of over 70 faculty, staff and student employees serving the college community over 80 hours per week. The Library is a busy hub of activity near the heart of campus, utilized heavily by students, employees and district residents. In addition to a comprehensive instruction program, reference and consultation services, robust collections, and extensive programming, the Library is the driving force behind COD's OER/Textbook Affordability Initiative (that has saved students over $8M) and plays a critical role in addressing the technology and digital literacy needs of the college community through lending and support.
