CONFERENCE CALL

Minutes

• Ian was confirmed to take minutes this month.
• The April 11, 2018 meeting minutes were approved.

Project Status Reports

• Best Practices for Promoting Digital Collections Document: Document approved by the committee.
• Promoting Your Digital Collections Webinar update: About 20-30 attendees. A lot of different experiences shared and various projects covered including tools (Instagram being the most popular) and crossover with some non-digital initiatives. 
• Digital Collections License Final Draft- Lawyers have approved the document, board must review and heads of institution must sign.
• Annual Report Discussion
  • Final version is due May 31.
  • Ellen is making a few small adjustments.

Discussion about the Future Activities section

• Should the group Guidelines on where the committee might end up promoting collections that are both on CARLI, Public Domain, or via items promoted from member libraries that don't necessarily have materials in DM?
•  Should the group reach out to see what institutions are using for social media right now to end up promoting in the correct spheres?
•  Should it just note that the group has accomplished their goals for this year, the next group will set the agenda? (This seems like the current consensus.)

Next Meeting

• Chair selection and group membership discussion.
• The next committee conference call will occur on June 13, 2018, from 11:00am to 12:00pm.
