Announcements

  • Member Announcements:
    • Kelly Fisher (Eureka College): Waiting on shelves to be assembled to continue with the remodel.
  • CARLI Announcements:
    • The upcoming event,  Design, Build, Refine, Repeat – Supporting Active Learning with 3D Printing, is on June 23, 2026. Registration is still open.

Discussion

  • Review of Public Service Committee website content can wait until next year.
  • 26 people registered for and 24 people attended the open house at Oakland College. This information was added to the annual report before submission.
  • Surveys will be sent to the attendees next week.
  • Current Public Service committee members rotating off are Gretchen Schneider (Oakton College), Kimberly Shotick, co-chair (Northern Illinois University), Beth Hultman, (Elgin Community College), and Charity Ringel (University of Illinois Springfield).
  • New members are: 3-year terms: Keva Kreeger (Newberry Library), Ethan Walter (Heartland Community College), Christine Kuffel (Harper College); and for a 1-year term: Nichole Novak  (IIT/Illinois Tech).
  • 2026-2026 Chairs
    • Volunteering to co-chair for next year
      • Kelly Fisher (Eureka College) volunteered to co-chair.
      • Kristen Blankenship (University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign) is considering co-chairing dependent on discussion with her library team.
      • Amy Maroso (CARLI) will reach out to Kelly, Kristen and Kate (not present at the meeting) to confirm co chair positions.
  • RAILS is providing a discounted ALA exhibit only pass. Gretchen provided the link.
  • Everyone commented on how well programing went this year and thanked our outgoing members for their hard work and dedication to the committee.

Next Meeting Dates and Deadlines

Amy and Elizabeth will send out a poll to the committee members to determine next year’s meeting dates/time.
