Decisions

• The May 11, 2026 minutes were approved.
• The Archives Committee will suspend our collection highlights in the CARLI Newsletter for the summer (June-August) and will resume in September. Melody Hauf-Belden will provide the September highlight, which is due to Elizabeth/Martin September 23.
• Further discussion on ways to support ArchivesSpace users was tabled for the next iteration of the committee. One suggestion was to have dedicated “co-working” times for people to bring their projects and questions.

Tasks Assigned

• Minutes taken by Elaine Fetyko Page.
• Elizabeth and Martin are continuing to work on accessibility of committee documents. 
• Rebecca will send out an email to the committee members who are rolling over to next year to gauge interest in co-chairing the committee for 2026-2027.
• Steven was thanked for his service.
• Rebecca and Meghan have both expressed interest in co-chairing.

• Emotional Labor in the Archives – June 9, 2026 at 1:00pm
  • As of 6/8, 69 registrants from 52 institutions, including 30 CARLI members; more than 20 registrants from outside of Illinois.
• CARLI monthly newsletter – published every month except for combined November/December
• Co-chair model for the future – those present thought it was a good model to follow.
• Please register to attend the CARLI All Committees Kickoff Meeting on July 23 at 1:00 p.m. The meeting will provide a brief overview of what to expect when serving on a CARLI committee, hear from the CARLI Director and committee liaisons, and have the opportunity to ask questions. You might even meet some of your committee colleagues!

This is the last meeting for 2025-2026. The first meeting of the committee for 2026-2027 will be determined by the new committee.
