PDA Event: Accessibility in Web Design: Designing for All Using AI Tools

Tuesday, June 2, 2026 - 1:00pm to 2:00pm

Accessibility is on everyone’s mind, and it can feel a little daunting to remember what to include when creating digital promotional materials. And AI seems helpful, but to what extent?

Join Tesla Rush as she shares what it looks like to create accessible designs. She is the Training and Technology Specialist for Union County Library in Monroe, NC. With a background in visual rhetoric, working on accessible designs quickly became a passion project while working on UCL’s website for accessibility.

She will be focusing on how you can use AI while staying in your organization’s policy and still creating accessible design. She will also be going over examples to show why accessibility matters to reach all audiences.

Learning Objectives:

  • Know how to analyze designs for accessibility, including color contrast, alt text, etc.
  • How to use AI tools effectively for design
  • How to use AI for design while still being safe and secure with information
  • Understand why creating accessible designs is important
