Tasks Assigned

• Will hold two meetings in January, one regularly scheduled and one to focus on the OER Funding application.

Decisions

• November 13, 2025 minutes were approved.
• CARLI staff will contact those whose participation in the OEN certificate program was financially supported by CARLI to be instructors for a May 2026 OER Virtual Course.

Announcements

• No Member Announcements
• CARLI Announcements:
  • Illinois Library Association Legislative Meetups were successful. Several committee members attended and reported a good experience. 
  • OER Grant Programs Updates 
    • Illinois SCOERs final reporting in progress. Data analyst is working with final report data and data dashboard will be shared out this spring. Committee suggested sending out an assessment of grant process to determine ways to improve the grant process in the future.
    • Lessons learned from ISL OER Grants should be applied to the CARLI OER Grant. Committee members specifically called out budget development and payment of faculty/staff.

Discussion

• CARLI OER Grant Program
  • Revised draft available in the CARLI OER Grant Program folder. 
  • Committee will meet exclusively on grant program on January 7, 2025 at 10:00 a.m.
• Continuing Education for FY26 
  • Multiple CE opportunities will be offered in the spring, including the OER Course, OER Faculty Workshop, Open Pedagogy Workshop, and OER Community Chats. Some of these will take during Open Education Week (March 2-6, 2026).
  • Subject specific Virtual Faculty and Instructors OER Meetups are being scheduled.
• Faculty OER Survey sub-committee has met to draft survey goals, logistics, and various key questions. More work forthcoming from this group. 
• ILOE Update
  • ILOE General Meeting held on 12/5. Shared mission/vision statements, committee chairs, and committee goals.
• CARLI is continuing to off support for Member Continuing Education / Certificate Programs. Two librarians were accepted to the OEN Certificate in Open Education Librarianship with CARLI support.

The next OER Committee Meeting with be January 8, 2026  at 10:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.; Minutes taker will be Jayna Leipart Guttilla.
