Description: The Voyager System Administration module provides library staff the ability to configure a library’s Voyager database policies and settings.

The settings made by library staff in SysAdmin configure important functionality, such as:

  • Staff privileges in the various clients (Security),
  • Circulation policies (e.g., a Book1 circulates to faculty for 6 weeks; the daily overdue fine rate for a Book1; which types of circ notices will be sent to which patron groups; etc.)
  • Translation of various codes (such as location codes and item type codes) into more useful display names,
  • Call Slip queues for processing I-Share item lending requests (and local requests if desired),
  • Library addresses for various types of functions (shipping, billing, etc.),
  • Cataloging rules (such as de-duplication profiles)
  • And more!

This workshop will provide information on required consortial settings, recommended settings, and most importantly- the overall cause and effect of choosing settings in the Voyager System Administration client.
