New I-Share Libraries: MFHD Workshop Part 1

Primary tabs

Monday, October 2, 2017 - 1:00pm to 4:00pm

Intended audience: Incoming I-Share libraries' staff. Cataloging staff may have the greatest interest, but Acq/Ser staff and those who write reports that use holdings data may also like to attend this class.

Please note that these sessions are for our 2018 New I-Share Library members only. Another MFHD Workshop will be scheduled in the future for continuing I-Share members who may be interested.

Session description: This class is designed to familiarize you with why the MFHD standard is important, and provide detailed explanations of MFHD fixed and variable fields, textual and itemized holdings displays, and MFHD templates. By the end of these two half day webinars, participants should be able to make informed decisions about how to use MFHDs in their own library's Voyager environment. Voyager holdings records and OPAC displays will be shown throughout the workshop; participants will test their own understanding of topics with detailed written exercises.
