Tasks Assigned

  • Minutes taken by Zach Claybaugh.
  • CARLI will send formal thank you letters to reviewers for the CARLI Member OER Initiative.
  • Shelly McDavid will work with CARLI staff to finalize the committee’s Annual Report for submission.
  • Lauren Kosrow and CARLI staff will finalize the draft for the CARLI OER Champions Call for Nominations. This is set to launch after the 6/11/26 committee meeting.
  • Lauren Kosrow will provide a link to the ILOE minutes.

Decisions

  • April 9, 2026, minutes were approved.

Announcements

  • Member Announcements:
    • Zach Claybaugh (Dominican University): Zach will be part of a panel giving the keynote address on day 2 of the Florida OER Summit, May 20-21.
  • CARLI Announcements:
    • Illinois SCOERs is wrapping up.
    • ILSOS/ISL OER Grants are set to be completed on June 30 with final reports due on July 15.

Discussion

  • CARLI Member OER Initiative projects were selected. There was wide representation geographically and across institutions in applications. The total number of applications called for almost double what could be funded through the initiative. This is a strong sign of continued need for consistent funding and active interest in OER across the state.
  • A new chair will need to be selected for the coming academic year. Both Zach Claybaugh and Brandon Board expressed some interest.
  • No update on the Illinois Course Materials Survey: Faculty Perspective.
  • Lauren Kosrow will provide a link to the ILOE minutes.
  • Open Illinois Hub event (April 23, 2026): 9 of 17 registrants showed up for the Add-a-thon. Lauren Kosrow’s tutorial was extremely helpful. Consensus is that incorporating this training in other contexts and having more consistent exposure to the process of uploading to the Hub will benefit the community.
  • CARLI Support for Member Continuing Education:
    • No updates on CC Certificate Program – hoping to continue sponsoring this in the next academic year; 29 members have attended the OEN Certificate in OER Librarianship program since 2019, 7 were locally funded and the others received CARLI funding.
  • CARLI OER Champions: Awardees will be announced at the CARLI Annual Meeting. Plan is for a submission deadline on August 31st; launch after June 11th meeting.
  • Annual Report Draft: Shelly McDavid walked the committee through the current draft. All committee members are invited to provide editing suggestions. Items needed to finalize the draft:
    • Date that the revised charge was approved by CARLI Governance Board
    • Date that website updates occurred
    • Update attendees and registrants for the Open Illinois Hub Add-a-thon
    • Number of folks CARLI supported for Professional Development funding
    • Need number of registrants for Humanities OER chat
    • ILOE does not need to be a focus of the Annual Report, just state that there is communication and reporting between the two groups.
