Responsible for the maintenance, access, and evaluation of the library’s electronic resources and discovery systems. Participates in the acquisitions, collection maintenance, and purchase order processes. Troubleshoots access issues and provides support to faculty, students, and staff on the use of electronic resources.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Electronic Resource Management
- Ensure timely access to electronic resources through the library’s discovery system.
- Maintains and configures electronic resources and discovery system.
- Maintains catalog records/collections for electronic resources.
- Collaborates with IT, library staff, and consortia partners to troubleshoot, evaluate, implement, and improve library systems.
- Prepares reports on the utilization of electronic resources to evaluate usage and effectiveness.
- Creates documentation and training materials for effective use of digital resources.
Acquisitions & Collection Maintenance
- Places, processes, and tracks new materials, standing orders, and subscription materials.
- Processes invoices, statements, packing slips, status reports, and renewal requests.
- Identifies items for special cataloging.
- Catalogs library materials.
- Collects, organizes, and manages bindery items.
- Participates in the inventory and weeding of library collections.
User Support and Services
- Troubleshoots access issues and provides technical support to users.
- Provides reference and information services and refers patrons to appropriate resources or librarians as needed.
- Performs circulation activities.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Creates and maintains procedures for position responsibilities.
- Exercises discretion and security measures with sensitive library user information.
- Oversees student employee tasks as needed.
- Monitors library to help ensure the safety and security of patrons and materials.
- Supplies information for reports as needed.
- Maintains order of shelves and files.
- Assists with special projects.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Experience with technical support and troubleshooting.
- Organizational skills with ability to maintain accurate, detailed records.
- Familiarity with library cataloging and classification systems such as Library of Congress and MARC Records.
- Excellent communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred:
- Certificate or coursework in library science.
- Experience with library systems, software, and digital tools (e.g. Alma, Primo, LibGuides).
- Experience with library acquisitions, cataloging, and classification systems (e.g. Library of Congress, MARC Records).
- Experience working in a library and/or academic setting.
- Familiarity with accessibility standards and practices for electronic resources.
