IFSI Burn Simulation and Recovery Workshop

The CARLI Preservation Committee is sponsoring a Burn Simulation and Recovery Workshop on Wednesday, June 13, 2018, from 8:30am - 4:15pm at the Illinois Fire Service Institute in Champaign.  

This workshop will include presentations by a fire professional, hands-on fire extinguisher training, burn simulation, and practice recovery of library materials.  Jennifer Teper, Bud Velde Preservation Librarian and Head of Preservation Services at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, will lead the salvage and recovery discussion and exercise.

Parking is free. Please park in visitors parking which is noted within the red box on the parking map. If the visitors parking area is full, we have permission to park elsewhere in the IFSI lot.

Workshop attire:
This workshop will take place, rain or shine. Portions of the day are outside, so please wear appropriate attire. Casual clothing is recommended. Long pants and closed-toe, sturdy shoes are required.

Registration: 
To register, please click on the "Register" tab above. Due to limited space, all registrants will be placed on the waitlist and will receive an email from CARLI when registration is changed from WAITLIST to REGISTERED. 

Registration is initially limited to 2 people per CARLI member library.

If registration is not full on May 1, CARLI will open registration to those on the waitlist.

Registration will close June 1, 2018.
