- Ted provided an overview of the Technical Services Committee (TSC) Charge.
- CARLI Bylaws and I-Share Membership Agreement should be reviewed when considering when a recommendation needs to be made to the Board

Continuing Business:
- Review of TSC 2022/2023 committee work
- OCLC Connexion Q & A Sessions
- Following completion of OCLC Connexion training modules, each TSC member hosted a Q & A session for each module.
- Survey was distributed to participants. Participants were interested in more training on original cataloging, save files, and batch processing.
- Cooperative Cataloging Policies for I-Share document was updated and approved by the CARLI Board. It can be found here

- TSC made a recommendation to the CARLI Board regarding the need for a committee to continue work on ethical cataloging.
- Collaborative database maintenance work based on information shared by Andrew Belongea (Columbia College Chicago) from the CARLI Discovery Committee. This was for incorrect coding of the MARC 007 field and how it impacts discovery.
- Future work suggested from TSC 2022/2023
- Updating CARLI’s Suggested Priorities for Bibliographic, Holdings, and Item Maintenance.
- Address results of the survey distributed to the participants of the OCLC Connexion Module Q & A sessions
- New suggestions
- Centralized way to make corrections (e.g. typos)
- Authority work – what have other consortia done to manage authority work?
- Presentation/webinar or listening session, “How to manage Technical Services in a shrinking environment.”
New Business
- Call out for ideas or volunteers and/or committee involvement with new ideas for the Technical Services Q & A sessions.
- As a follow-up to the inventory session, another session could be done as to how to interpret the results, or panel discussion on what libraries are doing with the inventory tool.
- TSC used to have a list of training opportunities
- Can we make use of the expertise of CMC presentations on cataloging practice?
- Survey call for more about original cataloging – possibly offer mentorship for catalogers?
Assignments for Next Meeting:
- Jen will send survey monkey for meeting time availability and a rank choice poll to gauge committee priorities.
- Tammie and Susan will prepare a report for the CARLI annual meeting.
