  • Announcements:
    • Registration for the CARLI Annual Meeting should open soon. The meeting will take place on Friday, November 18, at the I Hotel and Conference Center in Champaign.
      • As mentioned at last month’s meeting, Amy will present on the FY 2016 annual project, for which the Committee created an annotated bibliography of open-access resources.
  • Discussions:
    • The webinar on I-Share statistics, originally scheduled for October 12, will be moved to Wednesday, October 26. The second webinar, covering ILLiad and WorldShare, will still take place on Wednesday, November 9. Both presentations will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 AM.
    • The ad hoc committee (Amy, Marcella, Eric, Jen, Sarah, and Sandra) for putting together the webinars has met twice since the last meeting of the full Resource Sharing Committee. The ad hoc committee has created slides with content for each ILL program that the webinars will cover. Changes and additions to the slides are welcome, particularly if anyone has examples of reports on ILL use from her or his own library.
    • The Committee reviewed the proposal Eric had put together for the annual project, on using the numbers gathered through the ILLINET Interlibrary Loan and Reciprocal Borrowing Statistical Survey to create a report comparing interlibrary loan trends over time and across different types of academic libraries. The State Library is working with Counting Opinions, the company that puts together the survey, to produce a webinar on how to use the data, and there is also a handout available. Expanding the report to include statistics from academic libraries in other states might be a possibility for next year’s annual project.
  • Decisions:
    • The minutes from the August 16, 2016, meeting were approved.
    • The September 20 meeting was adjourned at 11:40 AM.
  • Tasks assigned:
    • Rand will put together the monthly question for the listserv, asking whether libraries share course textbooks through interlibrary loan. He will send out a draft for the Committee to review.
    • Eric will write a blurb summarizing the ILL statistics webinars, which Amy and Marcella will include with the registration announcement. Eric will send out a draft for the Committee to review.
    • Everyone will try out the statistical features in the ILLINET traffic survey. Those Committee members who do not already have an ILLINET login will check with the person at their institution who completes the survey.
