Conference Call

Decisions:

  • Minutes of the August 14, 2014  meeting were approved prior to the meeting.
  • Project must be decided at the next meeting.
  • We need to decide if our annual project will be something other than white paper.  A work-flow chart showing OCLC transactions in the catalog is under consideration.
  • The meeting was adjourned at 3:36PM.

Discussions:

  • Items recalled for faculty use.  Voyager does assess recall fines and these should not be cancelled.  Patrons not returning a recalled item should be blocked (but not mandatory).
  • Focus on more inclusive discussions applicable to all CARLI members not only I-Share Libraries.
  • Sandra Harris will draft September question regarding I-Share vs. OCLC borrowing by I-Share Libraries.
  • Classic accounts also show I-Share items, but can’t renew I-Share items.
  • Dearth of purple ILDS bags.  Illinois State Library has ordered more, extras should go to them.

Announcements:

  • A proposal to update ILLINET Interlibrary Loan Code will be published in the Illinois Register, followed by 45 days for comments.
  • Registration for CARLI Annual Meeting on Oct. 30 is open.
  • Voyager CIRCULATION training is scheduled for next month.
  • The Chicago School of Professional Psychology is leaving I-Share and CARLI. Books being recalled.
  • Proposals are solicited for CARLI research subsidy for committees, sub-groups, or individuals.
    • Best practices, marketing etc.
    • 150-200 word proposal
    • Deadline January 16, 2015

Tasks assigned:

  • Continue discussion of customer service webinar, possibly in conjunction with Public Services Committee.  Jen will contact them.
  • Lorna will find locations for Spring Open House.
