Conference Call

Decisions:

• Minutes of the October 3, 2013 meeting were approved.
• No interest was shown on making a list of OCLC work flows to share on list serve.
• The November discussion topic for the ResShare-ig will be Online student IDs. Are there any problems? How are they issued? Do they expire?
• Draft mission statement for the white paper is  "The Impact of eBooks on CARLI Resource Sharing".

Announcements:

• Listserv discussion went well last month. Topic was ‘in transit’ status
• Email went out to system administrators notifying them that CARLI was updating some UB policies to make them more current.
• Lorna and Debbie are traveling to Carl Sandberg College where thy will give circulation training. John Wood Community College will join the training. Anyone needing this training is welcome to join them.  The next training Voyager Circulation training in the CARLI office will be late March or April.
• Open house: Getting closer to final dates. Next step will be to organize.
  • UIU on March 24
  •  SIU and John Logan still looking at dates March 24- April 4.
  • NIU and Kishwaukee  have a yet to be determined date in April

Tasks assigned: Related to eBook white paper

• Susie & Debbie - will work on a literature survey.  Locate articles and make a working bibliography.
• Kathy & Amanda – Will develop a directors survey.
• Jeff & Matt – Write up a literature review of bibliographies
• Debbie & Lorna – Research to see if CARLI has any information from previous e-resource issue.
• All members will search for articles and start reading articles posted.

Other Business:

• Kathy brought up information about the eRead Illinois eBook project. Sign-up continues after November 1, which was the initial sign-up date. 
  • The libraries that signed up by November 1 will be added first.

• Schedule of CARLI Resource Sharing Committee Meetings: Conference calls on first Thursday of each month, 2:00-3:30 p.m., Beginning in September and skipping January,
