Decisions

• Minutes of October 15 approved.
• Public Service committee will be collaborating with the Resource Sharing committee on a Learning Commons/Resource Sharing open house. 

Tasks Assigned

• Minutes taken by Dawn.
• Kimberly will follow up with Resource Sharing Committee to select dates for onsite visits and feedback on program scheduling.
• Diana will reach out to Sauk Valley Community College and Elgin Community College regarding the potential for a virtual tour on Learning Commons/Resource Sharing.
• Kimberly will follow up with Gretchen to discuss Oakton College’s hosting an additional in-person tour.

  • CARLI’s new director, Laurie Blandino, will start on December 8.
  • CARLI will be closed November 26th and 27th

Discussion

• Student Employee Supervision Conversation
  • Held on November 18, 2025
  • 84 people registered and 50 attended.
  • A link to the Padlet with questions and resources will be sent to attendees in a follow-up email.
  • Amy and Elizabeth have drafted a follow-up survey to send to attendees. 
• Learning Commons Open House
  • Several libraries responded to the poll sent out regarding interest in hosting, warranting the decision to move forward with planning.
  • The Resource Sharing committee reached out to discuss partnering with this committee regarding programming offered at these open houses. 
  • Two in person events, Northern Illinois University with Kishwaukee College, and Oakton, both campuses were discussed.
  • One virtual tour combining Sauk Valley Community College and Elgin Community College was discussed.
  • In planning the programming, we need to consider combining the topics, space allotment, time for through conversation and tour of the spaces.
  • CARLI may be able to provide boxed lunches. 
  • Discussion on tabletop topics during lunch without mediators.
