Announcements

• The Head of Access Services position at Lake Forest College was approved.
• The call for volunteers to serve on CARLI committees was reinforced. There are several openings.
• The Spring Forum hosted by the Collections Management and Technical Services Committees will be on April 28th.
• The CARLI New Director’s Institute will be on May 3rd & 4th.
• CARLI is hosting a Voyager Cataloger training on May 17th & 18th.
• The Resource Sharing Committee will host an open house on May 19th at Eureka College and Illinois Central College.
• No news to report on the budget.
• The I-Share Next Task Force met with the state procurement officer. The Task Force is hoping to get the RFP on the website soon for the vendors to examine and make their responses. The RFP is in process.

Decisions

• Minutes from March meeting were approved.
• Colleen agreed to take minutes.

Tasks Assigned

• Denise and Elizabeth will send out permissions for committee members to upload pictures from the open houses to the Box site.
• Elizabeth will ask about a photo release so all participants attending the open houses can share photos to the Box site.
• Denise will send out a reminder to participants about there being no free parking at the Chicago open house.

Discussion

• Annual Project: Makerspaces/Annual Project page
  • Tighten formatting and add pictures from the events.
  • Edits can be sent to Denise or Elizabeth.
  • Site will be finalized sometime after the Chicago open houses.
• Open Houses
  • Positive feedback from UIUC evaluations on the Champaign open house.
  • The Winnetka-Northfield open house allowed participants to experiment with the equipment and learn about how the program was put together with particulars on pricing.
  • Northwestern was useful to see as the space was regulated to fit a different climate and scale.
  • Julia is firming up plans for the Chicago open houses on April 25th.
  • Julia volunteered to lead the group of participants traveling between Harold Washington and IIT.
• Annual Report
  • Changes or additions for the annual report should be sent to Sue and Corey.
  • Holding a joint open house with the Instruction Committee or holding open houses in Western Illinois were offered as suggestions for the future planning section of the report.
