Announcements

• Member Announcements:
  • Amy Sherwood (University of Illinois Chicago): Amy will present at the Gender and Sexuality in Information Studies Colloquium, June 17th and 18th “Archiving Resistance: Combating the Political Erasure of our LGBTQ+ Communities.”
• CARLI Announcements:
  • June 9. Presentation on Emotional Labor in archival work. Registration is open.
  • Annual Report was submitted. Thanks to everyone for a great year of work!

Discussion

• Bradley will write the June newsletter on AI and Preservation. The committee agreed that this will be the final newsletter of the year; no wrap-up article.
• Bradley wrote the next Severe Weather and Emergency Response email on corn sweat; Nicole will connect with him about sending it out this month.
• Sata presented a proposal for a hands-on book repair workshop to be hosted at NIU next year. The committee agreed that either the week of March 22 or March 29, 2027, would be a good time to hold the workshop.
• Liz Bloodworth and Stephanie Gowler volunteered to co-chair the committee for the 2026-27 Preservation Committee.
• The group thanked Patti and Bradley for their service as the 2025-26 co-chairs.

Next Meeting Dates and Deadlines

The 2026-27 Preservation Committee kick-off meeting will be scheduled later in the summer.
