  • The February 2026 minutes were approved with minor edits.

Announcements

  • Member Announcement:
    • Jason Smith (Lewis University): Presenting at the University of Southern Mississippi institutional repository conference.
  • CARLI Announcements:
    • Volunteer announcements for next year have been distributed to CARLI membership. Preservation Committee members are invited to stay on.
    • Links to upcoming continuing education programs on the meeting agenda, including developing library exhibits, archives open house at Illinois State, and Ask an Archivist session. All registration links are on the CARLI calendar.

Discussion

  • Preservation Resources website is fully updated and published. Presentation has been modified to comply with ADA accessibility rules.
  • Sata’s blog article is due next week and will be published shortly thereafter.
  • Ask A Preservation Expert session registration is open. Committee members have volunteered to be on hand.
  • Severe Weather and Emergency Response messaging is ready to distribute. Message on tornadoes will go out first, sometime next week. Message will be sent out from committee, then routed along by CARLI staff for wider distribution.
    • Subcommittee will meet to determine the remaining topics and distribution schedule.
  • Polygon disaster preparedness informational webinar is set for May 6, 2026, at 1 p.m. Will try to align committee severe weather and emergency messaging with this.
  • Florida Virtual Campus digitization programming collaboration dates set.
    • AI tools (Liz Bloodworth)
    • Crowdsourcing transcription
    • Possibly other programs related to different types of AV materials
  • Other Continuing Education
    • Possibly a live book repair session (Sata Prescott)
