Announcements

  • Member Announcements:
    • Melina Avery (University of Chicago). Multiple hirings at the University of Chicago Library. June 23 tour at 1 pm of University of Chicago Library.
    • Heidi Marshall (Columbia College Chicago): Center for Black Music Research at Columbia College Chicago Library closed June-January for HVAC.
  • CARLI Announcement:
    • Shared Spaces program will have the second in its series on 5/16 with presenters from UI-Springfield. There is also a PDA webinar on 5/15 on digitizing photographs from NEDCC sponsored by the Boston Library Consortium.

Discussion

  • Annual Projects:
    • Melina Avery working on digital preservation of video games article for May. She has shared content with Jade who is writing the article for June.
  • Preservation Webliography Links:
    • Two sections need to be reviewed.
  • Draft of Committee’s Annual Report
    • The draft was sent to members. Some suggestions of edits provided.
    • Feel free to email Melina with suggestions, needs to be finalized by end of May.
  • Committee
    • Still looking for members.
    • The committee will need co-chairs for the upcoming year.
    • The committee was in agreement to hold the first meeting of 2023-24 in person.
  • We had a lively discussion regarding professional development opportunities.

Next Meeting Dates and Deadlines

The next Preservation Committee meeting will be June 28, 2023.

Deadlines:
The Committee’s Annual Report is due May 31, 2023.
Preservation links must be checked by the June committee meeting, June 28, 2023.
