Conference Call

Members Attending: David Bell, Eastern Illinois University; Sandra Fritz, Illinois State Library; Beth McGowan, Northern Illinois University; Annette Morris, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign; Bonnie Parr, chair, Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum; Julie Wroblewski, Benedictine University

Decisions: 

• Preservation resources on the CARLI website: Items in the “other” webliography will be moved to the appropriate section and the category will be removed until needed. 
• Minor changes were made regarding Preservation Tips- Bonnie switched months.
• General consensus to not be involved in the IACRL program.

Announcements:

• Bonnie and the ALPL were quoted in Popular Science for their Gettysburg Exhibit. 
• Elizabeth announced that the DPOE (Digital Preservation Outreach& Education) group will be presenting four webinars this spring covering all six modules.
• David's blog featuring YouTube preservation videos for training students is ready to be published.

Discussion Items:

• There was at length discussion regarding webliography links.  
• Reminder of dates that the Preservation Tips are due.   
• At length discussion regarding topics for the Spring Program. Suggested topics included exhibits, conservation of archival materials such as flat-paper treatments, and environmental monitoring.

Tasks Assigned:

• Committee members will put out proposals regarding the Spring and possible Fall program options.  Please respond to the emails when they arrive.
• Regarding the White Paper, Bonnie and Beth will look into resources on physical preservation while Sandra, David and Annette will check the links on the Digitization Resources on the Preservation wiki.
