Instruction Committee Meeting Minutes: January 9, 2019

Decisions:

• Committee is in favor of doing another Twitter chat, using the same hashtag.
  • Planning to do fewer questions and to publish the questions ahead of time, so people can be prepared to participate.
  • Possible focus for next chat is on specific strategies/resources/examples for inclusive classrooms.
• The format for the Instruction Showcase is going to be lesson plans in the morning and a workshop in the afternoon.
  • We will not pursue a panel presentation, except as a backup if we can’t find someone to lead a workshop.
• For our podcast series, each podcast will have one of the original podcasters, a CARLI committee member, and the person we’re interviewing.
  • Mackenzie will be the committee member unless anyone else expresses interest.

Announcements:

• CARLI now has a fully signed contract with ExLibris for Alma.
• There have been a number of new events (Change Management forum, OER open call) announced recently that may be of interest to our members.

Tasks assigned:

• PDF from the Twitter chat will be posted on the CARLI website by Debbie.
• Once both spring webinar presenters have been confirmed, Lorna/Debbie will reach out to spring webinar presenters to get releases and schedule technology check times.
• Marielle will confirm space at North Park for Instruction Showcase on May 23.
• Matt and Amy will work on the wording for the call for proposals for the Instruction Showcase.
• Mackenzie will email our podcast partners to get firm dates on when our podcasts will be recorded.
