Instruction Committee Meeting Minutes: February 12, 2018

Meeting called to order at 1:05 pm.

Announcements: None

Discussions:

• Showcase Update: Thursday, May 31st at Dominican University
  • Space is reserved. Mackenzie and Larissa have faculty members willing to participate on the panel.
  • Possible format for the panel would be faculty member with their librarian, interview style.
  • Committee should continue to add panel questions, which will be narrowed down closer to the date.
• Marielle webinar update
  • Committee approved description and tentative topics with suggestions to narrow down to those about faculty.
  • Any suggestions for the title should be shared by the end of the week.
  • Email with registration to go out next week.
• New VuFind - Jessica Gibson, Project Manager for New VuFind
  • Jessica shared background information and updates regarding New VuFind (NV) and answered questions from the committee.
  • Libraries should consider going live with NV this summer 2018, as all I-Share libraries will need to be using NV by the time Voyager is replaced.

Decisions:

• Train the Trainer webinar, Monday, March 19, 1-2pm.

Tasks assigned:

• Marielle and Amy will ask faculty members they work with about participating on the Showcase panel.
• Debbie & Lorna will email committee the Showcase proposal form from last year.
• Marielle will add bio to webinar description by the end of this week.

Meeting Dates and Deadlines:

• Showcase timeline: Call for Proposals goes out mid-March; a couple of weeks to review & select; notify presenters so they have 3-4 weeks to prepare.
• Train the Trainer Webinar Email with registration will go out Monday, Feb. 19.
