Instruction Committee Meeting Minutes: November 13, 2017

Announcements:

• Registration for December’s Train the Trainer Webinar is 23 at this time. A rehearsal run-through has been scheduled for the presenters with CARLI staff.
• Marielle’s webinar at North Park has undergone a status change due to personnel changes in their Online Education department.
• A location for the Instruction Showcase has not yet been selected, but both North Park and Dominican Universities are excellent choices. Perhaps whichever location is not selected for this year’s Showcase could be the location for a future Showcase.

Decisions:

• The committee will wait to set a date for Marielle to do her webinar for CARLI until she has more information from North Park about badging for those who watch the webinar, as well as creating a self-directed tutorial.
• The agenda for the committee’s December/January meeting(s) will include discussion of Open Educational Resources/Open Textbooks as a possible topic for an additional webinar.
• References to the Instruction Committee will be removed from the Call for Participation letter for items to be sent to the newly established Document Depository, since the documents being solicited could come from any library department.

Tasks Assigned:

• All committee members will think about possible speakers and topics related to OER/OT that would make a good webinar/program.
• Mackenzie will create a poll for the committee to gauge interest in holding an additional event in the spring.
• Meeting adjourned at 1:45 p.m.
