Discussion:

  • ICAT discussed the ICAT/IACQ joint meeting to fill in areas of need. Catherine volunteered to be on the panel in the afternoon catalog session. Kristin volunteered to be part of the panel in the troubleshooting section. Cheryl and Heather (by email) volunteered to be notetakers. Statistics will be covered in the AM session on cataloging and access (speaker TBD).  The discussion will be shared with IACQ in the joint meeting on Feb. 21 for final approval.
  • Casey proposed two new queries to add to the maintenance priorities document: one would identify MFHDs with a mismatch between call number type and 852 field indicator values, and the second would evaluate item record prices for obsolete or incorrect values. Both queries were deemed beneficial and Casey will add them to the “Suggested Priorities” document on the CARLI website.

Four  – committed vendors will present:  EBSCO (EBSCO Discovery Service), ProQuest/Serials Solutions (Summon), OCLC (World CAT Local), and Ex Libris (Primo)..Yesterday Kristin Hammerstrand sent out announcement about patron driven acquisitions project for print books. It was sent to I-Share liaisons. Results from fall E-book forum were used to create questionnaires for e book vendors at midwinter.  Eventually this will lead to RFPs for e-books for CARLI.

Update as ELUNA member:  ELUNA is  preparing a ballot for enhancements for Voyager 9, with voting in March.  There are 35 enhancement options for cataloging.
