Announcements
- Ted shared that CARLI is making last minute changes to the website in order to meet Title II requirements. If documentation appears to be missing from the website, send a support request and it can probably be shared. Older videos will likely be disappearing.
- Ted asks committee members to share that volunteers for CARLI committees are still very much needed. Applications are due by the end of the month.
- Nicole reported that most FY27 agreements have been posted in ConsortiaManager. EBSCO and Oxford are still being finalized. EBSCO is limiting new product availability through CARLI brokering compared to previous years. The ConsortiaManager deadline will be Friday, May 15.
- Jacob says SIE has a new digital archivist position open and encourages applications.
Discussion
- Discussion of Operation Fiddle-Faddle. Robin reported that most of the questions from the last meeting and presentation and follow-up questions from the listserv have been answered. Marisa says 59 institutions have finished adding their EBSCO databases to IZ so far. CARLI staff on this project will be out last week of April so it will be challenging for CARLI staff to assist as the 5/1 deadline comes up. Marisa said most questions from institutions are like the questions from the listserv discussion or about the CDI operator role, as well as the nuances to proxy settings and linking parser parameters.
- Robin asked about open access collections and whether it should be on agenda for next time. Marisa said CARLI hasn’t come to a conclusion. Right now they’re working on PubMed Central. There are lots of tickets since 2020 concerning that collection and CARLI is evaluating how to manage it. Ted said there should be more discussion both within CARLI and public discussion so expectations are understood. There should also be an onboarding document so institutions know what’s expected of them, what CARLI does, etc. Marisa noted that the change with DOAJ was a big thing to communicate, but she also said if a CZ collection ceases to be supported (managed) by Ex Libris, Marisa will remove it. Ted said this is a bit different than EBSCO, where these are e-resources either CARLI or the State Library is paying, but now that DLRs (Display Logic Rules) have a bit more sophistication, there could be more thinking about how we do this. Jacob said he would pin this to revisit in May and noted the committee could gather opinions.
- Closed Committee meeting was followed by ERMC Presents: Using Analytics to Pull Your Data/Working with Vendors/SUSHI without Analytics by Elizabeth Nelson and Andrea Imre.
